For many years now, Le Regina Experimental Biarritz has attached great importance to respect for the environment. From the design of our facilities to the choice of materials, we do everything we can on a daily basis to minimize the impact of our activities on the environment. This charter has been drawn up with our teams, and we propose concrete actions that we have tested and approved together, without compromising your welcome and comfort during your stay with us - quite the contrary!
- Our environmental manager has undergone specific training on the challenges of sustainable tourism, environmental protection and CSR;
- Our teams are trained in the eco-gestures to be observed in their daily tasks;
- We choose our service providers and suppliers on the basis of their sustainable and social commitments;
- We work with as many local and organic partners as possible;
- We offer alternatives to car travel: information on our partners for bike rentals, bike path itineraries, public transport itineraries and timetables (available at reception);
- Our staff are on hand to cater to the specific needs of people with reduced mobility and ensure they have a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
- We have installed water economizers and pressure reducers on taps and showers to avoid depleting the resource;
- We read our water and electricity meters every month to better manage our consumption;
- We replace every bulb with an LED or low-energy bulb and have already equipped more than 75% of our lighting;
- We have installed presence detectors/minuterie switches in common areas/hallways to limit energy wastage.
- We have installed waste garbage cans in the rooms to encourage waste sorting;
- Our common areas are also equipped with a sorting system;
- We sort all types of waste, even bio-waste, and use the services of an external composting partner for waste that cannot be composted directly;
- We work with a majority of products in bulk or in large packaging to limit unnecessary packaging;
- We don't offer disposable crockery.
- We offer vegetarian dishes à la carte in the restaurant, local and seasonal products, and we adapt to certain special diets;
- Our restaurant menus feature organic and/or fair trade products;
- We use only steam for our cleaning and our cleaning products are Ecocert-certified, which means better air quality and fewer health risks;
- For the well-being of our teams and yours, we have banned bleach, which is irritating to the respiratory tract and toxic to aquatic organisms;
- Our establishment is completely non-smoking.
- Our green spaces are maintained without pesticides and we use alternative methods to combat weeds and insects;
- We have partnerships with local recycling centres and donate our old equipment/furniture to associations that help elderly people in difficulty;
- Each year, we commit to new criteria to perfect our approach, so don't hesitate to send us your suggestions!
